Yes, the CT ELD is certified for use across the U.S. and Canada. Our ELD is FMCSA-registered and built specifically to meet the regulatory requirements of the U.S. ELD mandate. In Canada, ELDs need to be certified by a third-party certification body. Counting Trucks is fully certified on both Android and iOS for the Canadian ELD mandate.
Commercial motor vehicles operating in interstate commerce and required to maintain RODS (Record of Duty Status) must use ELDs unless exempt.
We support all commercial vehicles through our partnership with Pacific Track and Geometris. This includes vehicles using OBD2, J1939 and J1708/J1587.
The driving time is recorded automatically based on the requirements set forth by the FMCSA.
Yes, certain drivers, like those in short-haul operations or those operating vehicles manufactured before 2000, are exempt from using ELDs.
